The Donut Incident in Islamabad: What Happened at Crusteez Donuts?

In late September 2024, a seemingly routine visit to a bakery in Islamabad turned into a viral controversy when Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faez Isa, was refused service at Crusteez Donuts in the Blue Area. A video of the incident, captured by a bakery employee, showed the worker behaving disrespectfully towards the Chief Justice and his family. The footage quickly spread across social media, sparking debates and strong reactions from the public.

The Incident

The video in question shows an employee of Crusteez Donuts allegedly refusing to serve the Chief Justice, accompanied by rude and inappropriate comments. This behavior led to an immediate outcry, with many criticizing the employee for his lack of professionalism. The situation quickly escalated online, as viewers shared the clip, some siding with the Chief Justice, while others expressed various views on social media.

Crusteez Donuts’ Response

Following the uproar, Crusteez Donuts released a public apology, distancing itself from the actions of the employee. The bakery emphasized that the behavior witnessed in the video did not reflect the company’s values. Crusteez also announced that an internal investigation was underway, and they planned to improve staff training in customer service to ensure such incidents would not happen again.

Rumors and Clarifications

In the aftermath of the incident, rumors spread that the bakery had been sealed by local authorities as a consequence. However, this claim was quickly debunked. The confusion arose because another branch of Crusteez Donuts, located in the F6 area, had been sealed earlier in September for unrelated health code violations linked to dengue prevention. Authorities confirmed that the Blue Area branch, where the Chief Justice’s encounter occurred, remained open for business.

Public Reactions

The incident generated mixed responses on social media. Many users condemned the behavior of the employee, calling for better customer service and respect for individuals, regardless of their social status. Others speculated on whether the event was exaggerated, with some questioning the public’s reaction. However, the general consensus was that such behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional, particularly towards a public figure like the Chief Justice.

Moving Forward

As the incident fades from the spotlight, it serves as a reminder of the importance of professionalism and respect in public-facing roles. Crusteez Donuts has promised to enhance staff training to avoid similar incidents in the future, and the public hopes for more positive interactions between customers and service providers moving forward.

The donut incident may have been brief, but its viral nature highlights the power of social media in shaping public discourse around seemingly small events. More importantly, it underscores the value of respect, professionalism, and customer care in any service industry.

Kamala Harris: Vice President of the United States – Breaking Barriers and Shaping the Future

Kamala Harris made history on January 20, 2021, when she was sworn in as the 49th Vice President of the United States. Her ascension to this role is nothing short of groundbreaking. As the first woman, the first Black woman, and the first South Asian-American woman to hold this office, Kamala Harris represents a profound shift in the political landscape of the United States. Her journey to the vice presidency is a testament to perseverance, intelligence, and a deep commitment to justice and equality.

Early Life and Background

Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California, to immigrant parents. Her mother, Shyamala Gopalan, was a cancer researcher from India, and her father, Donald Harris, is a Jamaican-American economist. Raised in a household that valued education, activism, and community service, Harris was exposed early on to the civil rights movement and the principles of social justice. Her mother played a crucial role in shaping Harris’s identity, instilling in her the value of hard work and a belief in the power of public service.

After graduating from Howard University, one of the most prestigious historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the United States, Harris went on to earn her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Her legal education paved the way for a career that would be defined by a commitment to justice and advocating for those without a voice.

Career in Law and Politics

Kamala Harris’s career began in the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, where she prosecuted cases involving gang violence, drug trafficking, and sexual assault. In 2004, she became the first woman and first African American to serve as San Francisco’s District Attorney. Her tenure was marked by efforts to reduce recidivism and reform the criminal justice system. Harris focused on progressive policies such as a program that aimed to provide job training and education for first-time offenders, rather than simply punishing them.

In 2011, Harris broke another barrier when she became the Attorney General of California, the first woman and first African American to hold that office. As Attorney General, she tackled issues such as criminal justice reform, mortgage fraud, environmental protection, and civil rights. One of her notable actions was reaching a landmark settlement with major banks over foreclosure abuses, which provided billions in relief to struggling homeowners in California.

U.S. Senate and Vice Presidency

In 2017, Harris was elected to the U.S. Senate, where she quickly made a name for herself with her sharp questioning during committee hearings and her advocacy for healthcare reform, immigration rights, and criminal justice reform. During her time in the Senate, Harris was known for holding powerful figures accountable and for her role in pushing forward progressive legislation. She also co-sponsored the Green New Deal and Medicare for All, two key pillars of progressive policy in recent years.

Harris’s historic rise to the vice presidency came as part of the Biden-Harris ticket in the 2020 presidential election. Together, they won a decisive victory, with Harris becoming the highest-ranking woman in the history of the United States government. Her role as vice president is particularly significant, given her close collaboration with President Joe Biden on key issues like managing the COVID-19 pandemic, advancing economic recovery, and addressing climate change.

Kamala Harris’s Impact and Vision for the Future

As vice president, Kamala Harris has been at the forefront of addressing some of the most pressing challenges facing the United States today. She has taken on a prominent role in addressing the root causes of migration from Central America, advocating for voting rights, and championing women’s reproductive rights amid a changing legal landscape.

Her work has focused on creating a more equitable society, where systemic racism and social inequalities are addressed through tangible policies. Whether it is reforming policing, expanding healthcare access, or promoting diversity and inclusion, Harris’s policy approach has been rooted in the belief that government must be a force for good in people’s lives.

Harris’s unique perspective as a woman of color with a background in law and social justice gives her a deep understanding of the complex issues facing the country. She is often seen as a voice for marginalized communities, and her leadership reflects the changing demographics and priorities of the United States.

Conclusion

Kamala Harris’s journey from Oakland to the vice presidency is a story of breaking barriers, challenging the status quo, and advancing a vision of justice and equality for all Americans. As vice president, she is not only making history but also shaping the future of the nation through her tireless efforts to address the most pressing issues of our time.

Her rise to this position has inspired millions around the world, showing that with determination, resilience, and a commitment to public service, it is possible to bring about lasting change. Kamala Harris is more than just the vice president—she is a symbol of hope, progress, and the

power of diversity in leadership.

Pakistan’s Discovery of the World’s Fourth-Largest Oil Reserves: A Game-Changer for the Economy

In a recent breakthrough that has the potential to transform Pakistan’s economic landscape, the country has identified vast oil and gas reserves in its territorial waters. The discovery, which is being hailed as the fourth-largest oil reserve in the world, is the result of a comprehensive three-year geological survey conducted in collaboration with a partner nation.

Oplus_131072

The Discovery and Its Impact

The reserves were located offshore, within Pakistan’s exclusive economic zone, following an extensive survey that identified not just oil, but also natural gas. Experts believe that this discovery could have a significant impact on the country’s energy needs and its economic situation. Pakistan, which has long been dependent on expensive energy imports, now has the potential to significantly reduce its reliance on foreign oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG).

This find, if fully exploited, could alleviate some of Pakistan’s chronic energy shortages and help stabilize its economy. The benefits could be multifaceted—ranging from reducing the country’s trade deficit to improving its financial stability by potentially paying off foreign debt.

Economic and Strategic Importance

The new reserves, reportedly on par with some of the world’s leading oil-producing nations, could place Pakistan in the global energy spotlight. Currently, the top oil reserves in the world belong to Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Canada, among others. If Pakistan can efficiently develop these newly identified reserves, it could emerge as a key player in the global energy market.

However, experts also stress that the road to fully exploiting these reserves will be long and expensive. Initial estimates suggest that drilling and infrastructure development could require upwards of $5 billion, and actual extraction could take at least four to five years. The discovery alone is not enough; success will depend on sustained investment and efficient project management to bring these reserves to market.

Challenges Ahead

Despite the enthusiasm, experts urge caution. There are still a number of uncertainties surrounding the full extent of the reserves and the feasibility of their extraction. Pakistan has made several unsuccessful attempts in the past to develop offshore oil and gas resources due to the high costs and technical difficulties involved.

Moreover, tapping into these reserves will require large-scale investments in infrastructure such as drilling rigs, pipelines, and processing plants. Geopolitical stability, consistent government policies, and international investment will also play crucial roles in determining whether Pakistan can successfully harness these resources.

A Glimmer of Hope

Despite the challenges, the discovery comes at a critical time for Pakistan, which has been grappling with economic instability, rising debt, and an energy crisis. This new find offers a glimmer of hope for a nation eager to reduce its dependence on imported energy, stabilize its currency, and build a more sustainable future.

If successful, this could be a game-changer not just for Pakistan but for the entire region. It would allow the country to shift its energy policy from one based on imports to self-reliance, offering long-term economic benefits, job creation, and even the potential for energy exports in the future.

Conclusion

Pakistan’s recent discovery of massive oil and gas reserves in its waters holds immense promise, but it also comes with challenges. The next few years will be crucial in determining whether this discovery can be effectively leveraged to drive the country’s economic revival. With proper management, investment, and strategic partnerships, Pakistan could position itself as a major energy player on the world stage.

In the meantime, the discovery serves as a much-needed beacon of hope for a nation striving to overcome its economic st

Abu Dhabi named safest city in the world for the eighth successive time

A study that has been conducted has ranked Abu Dhabi as the safest city in the world for the eight consecutive year this is due to the commitment of the emirate in provision of security, healthcare and general well being. Securing the highest scores in safety and healthcare, the capital of the UAE not only continues to hold the title of the safest city in the world but also holds the positions of the most liveable city in the MENA region.

 The Global Safest Cities Index

The title ‘The Safest City’ stems from the Global Safest Cities Index where cities are ranked based on some parameters such as crime rates, efficiency of law enforcement among other factors such as access to health facilities. This is the reason why Abu Dhabi always occupies high positions on these lists: there is little crime, many policemen and highly developed emergency services.

What Makes Abu Dhabi So Safe?

  1. Low Crime Rates: What is perhaps one of the strongest indicators of safety level in Abu Dhabi is the crime rate which is rather low. Criminals are discouraged by the various implemented laws and regulations put in place by the city government together with the efficient law enforcing mechanisms that ensures that the culprits are apprehended and brought to book.

  1. Advanced Surveillance Systems: Abu Dhabi has invested a lot of money on better security systems that include a widespread video surveillance system and a range of special systems. All these tools make it possible for the authorities to have tight security all over the city.

  1. Proactive Law Enforcement: The policemen in Abu Dhabi are well-trained, and they patrol around with all the necessary equipment which enhances their performance in case of any eventuality of an incident. Using elements like community police as well as the fluency in the notion of public safety, they keep the environment secure.

  1. Community Engagement: The role of the government cannot be overemphasized since it counts on the community to support it’s safety related activities. Awareness programmes and awareness campaigns popularize participation of the residents in the safety of the city and foster a culture of ownership.

 Healthcare: A Pillar of Livability

Apart from safety, there is another even more significant aspect of livability, namely the healthcare, and according to the statistics, Abu Dhabi also boasts one of the best healthcare systems in the world. The city boasts of excellent health care facilities and services the health standards of the city are well enhanced to meet the needs of the people as well as visitors.

 – State-of-the-Art Medical Facilities: modern healthcare facilities of Abu Dhabi are among the best in the region when it comes to possessing elaborated technical equipment and qualified personnel.

 – Accessible Healthcare: Healthcare facilities: the health care provision in the city is Universal with many centers and clinics in the emirate of Dubai that both private and public health care.

 – Public Health Initiatives: Several programs that have to do with promoting the health of the masses have been begun by the Government of Abu Dhabi. These activities include; mass immunization, health promotion activities, and health check-ups that enhance the wellbeing of the people.

Abu Dhabi: The Most Livable City in MENA

While this finding might seem obvious given the current global standing of Abu Dhabi as a city, it brightens the emirate’s gleam by confirming it the most livable city in entire MENA region. In safety, which is a key factor of livability, citizens of a country can only be safe and secure if adequate health care is availed to them, the infrastructure is well developed, the education system is good, and the environment friendly.

– Infrastructure: The infrastructure in Abu Dhabi is generally modern; the road infrastructure is excellent and the maintenance of roads is good; transportation on public means is averagely good; the emirate has all the amenities that a people might require depending on their nature.

 – Education: The city provides a number of educational facilities, formal state schools, private schools implementing the programs of the curriculum of various countries, universities and research centers.

 – Environment and Sustainability: Another area that has been receiving a lot of concern from Abu Dhabi is environmental conservation through the reduction of carbon emission, enhancement of conservation of renewable energy as well as the conservation of natural resources. The green areas, parks and beaches are beneficial characteristics of the city they make the life of people and the visiting tourists more comfortable.

 The Future of Abu Dhabi

That Abu Dhabi has maintained the title of the safest city globally and the most suitable city in the MENA region is evidence enough of the leadership’s foresight and aspiration for the welfare of the population. The governing body of the city has laid down its vision for the coming years as to infrastructure development, health care and law enforcement.

With developments still taking place in Abu Dhabi, its constant demonstration of a city that is both developed and safe, healthy, and comfortable to live in can be seen throughout the world. From a security and health perspective, from the experience of work and rest, for residents, expatriates and tourists, Abu Dhabi is an open and safe city.

 Conclusion

The global rating that placed Abu Dhabi as the world’s safest city for the eighth time in a row is yet another accomplishment that underlines the emirate’s commitment to the wellbeing of its population. With high safe and health care numbers, this city is a world model and a clear example of the most sustainable city to live in the MENA region. As the city of Abu Dhabi evolves into a global beacon, it sets pace on other cities which desire to develop the standards of the living with security and adequate provision of infrastructure.

Understanding Monkeypox Virus: A Growing Public Health Concern

Monkeypox is a viral zoonotic disease which has recently attracted the world’s attention because of possible outbreaks and the health issues connected with it. Its significance is however relatively newer, which was first identified in monkeys in 1958. This article endeavours to give an overview of monkeypox; its general background, how it spreads, how it presents, how it can be prevented, the recent outbreaks that have been observed.

What is Monkeypox?

Monkeypox is a zoonotic disease that results from monkeypox virus, the member of the Orthopoxvirus genus that also features variola virus that causes smallpox and vaccinia virus which is used in vaccination against smallpox. Monkeypox is named as such, but the primary hosts are rodents and other small mammals with humans as incidental hosts.

The disease was first discovered in people in 1970, in what was then the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since then, monkeypox has been identified in several countries in Central and West Africa and very occasionally in other parts of the world where it has probably been imported.

Transmission of Monkeypox Virus

Monkey pox is mostly acquire thru contact with the tissues,eg, blood or fluids or with the skin crusts of the affected animals. Transmission is from human to human through respiratory secretion, direct contact with body fluids or surfaces such as beds.

Another mode of transmission is through the large droplets and this can only be through close contact face to face contact. That is why close family members and healthcare workers are vulnerable during the outbreak of a particular virus.

Symptoms of Monkeypox

The incubation period for monkeypox averages between 6 -13 days but can be between 5–21 days. The disease progresses through two phases:The disease progresses through two phases:

1. Invasion Phase: This phase can last up to 5 days and includes for instance fever, severe headache, swollen lymph nodes, back pain, muscle aches, and fatigue. Lymphadenopathy is also differentiating factor in Monkeypox as compared to smallpox.

2. Eruption Phase: Accompanying the fever, in 1 to 3 days a rash appears; the face is affected primarily, and then other parts of the body. The rash has macular (flat discolored area, which is slightly elevated but not raised), papular (bumps on the skin that are elevated but unsaceous), vesicular (raised rounded affecting fluid filled lesions), and pustular (raised round focal pus filled lesion) stages and ends up with stages of crusting and desquamation where the skin falls off.

In general, the intensity of the illness is not extremely high and; therefore, monkeypox can be considered mild to moderate in most of the infected individuals. However, the disease could be serious in children or in persons with compromised immune systems and may cause death.

Prevention and Treatment

Monkeypox cannot be cured but the smallpox vaccine has been proved to be effectinve as a post exposure prophylaxis. Due to recent emergence of some few cases of this disease in some parts of the world, some countries have considered revaccination for populations at risk such as those in the health care facilities or those in the endemic regions.

Preventive measures include:

Minimizing contact with animals that may be reservoirs of the virus especially in regions where the virus is probably to be found.
Taking care and washing hands most of the time with soap and water.
Quarantining the affected individuals so as to curb the spread of the disease.
Adhering to strict infection control practises while handling the patients such as wearing of personal protective gears.

Recent Outbreaks and Global Impact

Monkeypox has continued to circulate in a number of African countries with different cases in those countries reoccurring from time to time. But, the last decade recorded several outbreaks of the virus outside Africa hence a new dimension to the spread of the virus.

Autumn of 2022 saw the monkeypox virus to spread beyond the endemic countries which triggered alarms of another health crisis. The WHO has therefore stressed on the need to closely follow the development and take relevant steps towards containment of the strain.

Outside Africa, the rationale for increased cases has included travellers crossing borders, alteration of contact between animals and humans and the decline in small pox vaccination due to the discontinuation of small pox in 1980.

Conclusion

Thus, Monkeypox is a vivid example that zoonotic diseases remain an acute concern, and adequate systems should be in place to recognize and address new risks. Although the disease is considerably less frequent than other viral illnesses, the propensity for outbreaks should not be underestimated.

It is therefore important that relevant publics be made aware of monkeypox and where possible prevent its spread and ensure early intervention for the vulnerable. However, given the recent incidence of zoonotic viral diseases, further research, surveillance, and interprofessional collaboration all around the globe over the issues arising from such diseases are essential.

While writing this article I took into consideration that Its target audience will consist of virtually anyone; therefore the general presentation of the facts coupled with the main goal of creating awareness on the topic will be done by the use of a simple storyline which will be easy for lay understanding. The guidelines offer very important information on the virus including ways through which individuals and the community can protect themselves.

Internet outages in Pakistan causing losses for freelancers

Internet Outages in Pakistan: A Growing Crisis for Freelancers

Islamabad, Pakistan – Internet blackouts are not new in Pakistan, but the latest ones have reached a worrying level for the increasing number of freelancers in the country. In the last few months, internet shutdowns have become a norm from the government side, which has rendered freelancers stranded and unable to use the tools that are important to them for their income.

The situation worsened in December 2022 when the Egyptians submarine cable that pirated internet traffic to Pakistan was cut. This led to almost two weeks of country-wide blackouts as the backup capacity was grossly insufficient to cope with the situation. These extended interruptions have been devastating to freelancers who provide services to clients in other countries and often work under strict time constraints.

Overseas projects were delayed for Riaz due to inability in accessing internet to complete his designs as a web designer in Lahore. They say: ‘Some clients were understanding, but some others were tactless enough to refuse payment because I failed to meet their strict deadlines due to the internet interruptions. ’ In his estimation, these erratic internet connections have deprived him of $5,000 and more within the last three months only.

Such incidents have become an unenviable norm among freelancers in Pakistan, which has hundreds of thousands of such workers. These individuals are employed as programmers, graphic designers, content writers, and many other professionals to clients across the globe. These services require timely compensation facilitated by global payment platforms such as PayPal, Payoneer or TransferWise. However, these sites were completely out of reach throughout the extended loss of connectivity.

This has been said to be perilous not only for the livelihoods of citizens but also for macroeconomic stability of Pakistan according to economists. Money from the freelancers working in other countries is the flow of foreign exchange for the deteriorating economy. Internet blackouts might slow down this source of income when it is most necessary.

As much as the government may have reasons to disrupt networks for security, the experts opine that the government requires balance solutions that do not deny such many people the technological opportunity to the world economy. Indeed, as one freelancer said while experiencing a recent outage, “For us, no Internet means no income and no future. ” This growing crisis can only be solved by making connectivity an inviolable national priority.

Monkeypox: The Newest Virus to Strike Over 500,000 Individuals and the Actions of Pharma Companies

It is quite noteworthy that over the number of years, the world has witnessed a sequence of viral phenomena. The newest virus to capture the world’s interest is Monkeypox, a disease that until recently has stayed largely in Africa. But I now learn this virus has viral to other parts of the world it has affected over 500, 000 people. And as the numbers go up again, the drug makers are putting on their dancing shoes once more, ready to confront the new alter ego. Here is what you should know about Monkeypox; its transmission and prevention measures being taken to eradicate it.

What is Monkeypox?

Monkeypox is closely related to smallpox though it is a zoonotic disease which is transferred from animals to man. The symptoms are very similar to small pox but the effect is not as severe as small pox. Monkeypox was first identified in 1958, after outbreaks were observed in research monkeys and hence the name Monkeypox; the first instance of human infection was reported in 1970 in Demcratic Republic of Congo. Since then the virus has been circulating in some of the areas within the Central and West Africa sub regions.

How is Monkeypox Spread?

Only close contact person to person, or animal to person, or touch with object contaminated with the virus can cause the disease. It can be transmitted directly through the respiratory secretions from an infected person or may exist from the body fluids or skin rash. It can also spread in cases where an object such as bedding or clothing happens to be contaminated by the viral particles.

The Global Spread of Monkeypox

A change of events happened in the year 2022, where Monkeypox started to infect people beyond Africa, in Europe, the Americas, and Asia. This unprecedented spread has also prompted health officials globally to sit up. Other attributes like new human mobility especially with the globalization and expansion process and alteration of human-animal relationships and possibly a factor of evolution of the virus to new strains all contribute to the spread of the virus.

till now over 500,000 individuals have been confirmed positive for Monkeypox all around the world. The high prevalence of the virus has led to calls made to the public by the relevant authorities and general preventive measures such as mass immunization.

Pharmaceutical Companies Gear Up

Notably, Monkeypox is raging through the population, and the pharma firms are starting with their standard routines, including the search for vaccines and cures. Many firms are currently focusing on AS02, an adjuvant system used in future smallpox vaccines, to treat Monkeypox as such vaccines are effective against Monkeypox. Besides the vaccines, anti-viral medications for dealing with the virus are also under consideration at the same time.

The Role of Vaccines

The vaccine is one of the best weapons that are available to humanity in the fight against Monkeypox. Monkeypox has been proved to be prevented by the same vaccine which was used for smallpox until it was wiped out in 1980. As for now, there are some vaccines in the experimental and research stage that is being made to combat Monkeypox. Authorities from the health sector of the countries affected have embarked on a vaccination exercise and targeting the vulnerable groups which include persons in the health care sector and individuals who had close contact with affected persons.

Public Health Measures and Preparedness

It is worthy of note that the prevention of Monkeypox depends not only on medications but also on the measures used in the sphere of public health. These measures include:

1. Quarantine and Isolation: Those that are affected are quarantined to ensure that the virus does not spread its wings.
2. Contact Tracing: Quarantining: The act of determining people who have been closely associated with individuals suffering from the virus is crucial if the occurrence of the virus is to be controlled.
3. Public Awareness Campaigns: There is the need for raising the public awareness of the Monkeypox virus signs, ways of spread, and how to prevent it.

What’s Next?

While the global community is experiencing another viral outbreak in the form of monkeypox, the role that pharmaceutical firms and governments together with the ministry of health and other organizations will define the spread of this disease. The good news is that through more research, development of vaccines and programmes established to control the spread of diseases, it is believed that the virus can be contained.

However, they are still subject to change and that’s why one needs to constantly follow the updates. National health authorities and the governmental leadership and their counterparts in other countries worldwide continue closely watching the development of the coronavirus and responding to new pieces of information.

Conclusion

As you may know, the monkeypox is the newest threat in the war against arising histological diseases. The virus jumping beyond the African region and infecting over 500000 people is a wakeup call of the reality that the world is a village and illness has the ability of going round the globe at the blink of an eye. An individual should remain constantly informed and be as cautious as possible to avert the catastrophe that is rapidly being prepared by these companies and public health authorities.

Several measures, including finding effective vaccines and treatments, will be stepped up in the coming months on a worldwide basis along with launching the preventive measures. Monkeypox response therefore will be an excellence opportunity to assess how prepared and or otherwise our global community is in preventing and controlling the spread of newly emerging zoonotic diseases in a now integrated global village.

To summarise, be alert, be safe and brace for the next phase.

Cigarette Smoking Hits 80-Year Low in the U. S. A Landmark Shift in Public Health

Recently, cigarette smoking has been minimized to 80 years low in United States where only 11 % of the U.S adults said that they used cigarettes in the last week, as highlighted by Gallup poll. This kind of change that happened historically shows the continuous change of perception of Americans towards smoking and efforts that have been put in place in an attempt to discourage the use of tobacco products.

 A Steady Decline

The over all trend of cigarette smoking has been declining over the decades but the rate of decline is slow. Gallup first started recording smoking practice in 1944, and survey revealed that 41 percent of the adults were smokers. This figure was low at 10% in 1901 and rose to a high of 45% in 1954 before gradually coming down. Smoking, based on the latest statistics, has reduced tremendously to a meager fraction of what it used to be in the past and this is a plus or our society.

Factors Behind the Decline

Cigarette smoking is continuing to reduce for the following reasons The decrease in cigarette smoking has been attributed to the following reasons. One of these is perhaps the general understanding that smoking is a vice. Gallup poll revealed that 79% of Americans consider cigarettes as ‘very harmful’ due to countless research works that associated smoking with life-threatening diseases such as lung cancer, heart disease and respiratory illness.

Campaigns to discourage smoking, higher taxes on cigarettes and other tobacco products, along with laws that limit the places where people can smoke are other areas that have helped change people’s attitude as well as helping reduce the incidence of smoking. Also, with the smoking of electronic cigarettes and general vaping has been an option for those willing to quit the smoking of normal cigarettes.

The Role of Young Adults

Surprisingly, the sharpest drop in smoking has been recorded among the younger population in the category of young adults. According to Gallup, this generation, 2022-2024, is significantly less likely to smoke cigarette than previous generation. Instead, youth use vapor products and only about a third of them use cigarettes; in fact, vaping is nearly three times more popular among youth than smoking. As compared to smoking, vaping is considered safer; nevertheless, the authorities advise against such practices because of the various adverse effects that may surface in the future.

The Future of Smoking in America

Continuing from the latest anti-smoking campaign, the attention is now targeted at other forms of tobacco use, namely vaping. Epecially among the young people, government and health organizations have began to launch campaigns against use of e-cigarettes as they have adverse effects of nicotine on the health of users.

Smoking rates have not remained the same, but a new low is a clear indication that public health has it right and the society is really changing. But continuous public education and policy work is required to preserve this downward trend and to respond to new problems in tobacco and nicotine.

There is hope that this year could prove to be a landmark one for Americans who do not wish to continue to involuntarily light up; for one who wishes to live a smokeless existence. The success achieved in cutting smoking incidence also has set precedent for other campaigns intended at combating diseases occasioned by behavioral changes.

Conclusion

A decrease in cigarette smoking to 80-year historic low bears testimony to changing trend in the area of health and social wellbeing in the United States. That is why people’s attitudes towards smoking as a negative behavior and other forms of tobacco substitutes such as vaping are evolving. Such a loss calls for further commitment to eliminate smoking and also enhance the quality of health of the new generation.

This reward forms part of celebrations that have been fully organized throughout the Nation in appreciation of the achievement made by Nadeem the Olympic record holder for the throw of 92. 97 meters and thereby, gave Pakistan its maiden individual gold medal at the Summer Olympics. The government of Punjab’s act is not an act of tokenism but a special appreciation of the efforts and passion that Nadeem has brought into the industry.

Mr. Arshad Nadeem, of course, is the best Olympian of Pakistan; he is an inspiring athlete whose biography is replete with inspiring stories of passion, responsibility, and commitment to Olympic gold. He was born in a poor family in Khanewal, Punjab; the circumstances that he encountered during that period were highly unfavorable, particularly with regard to his educational and training conditions. But such activities remained a hindrance and Nadeem with his ability and ambition rose to be a world-class athlete and athlete of the decade.

The car donated to Nadeem by the Punjab government is specially designed to commemorate his record throw, and the number plate of the car is ‘PAK 92. 97’, meaning distance Nadeem managed during the throw in Paris. Aside from the money, the trophy is an ambiguous symbol – it symbolizes that his victory became the part of the history and the pride of the nation belongs to him.

The official acknowledgement from the Punjab government is one of many honors that has come Nadeem’s way since he won Olympic gold. These material tokens of appreciation as well as cash rewards given to him and the numerous gifts and honors bestowed upon him are a sign of a nation’s pride as well as a sight of hope for the future of sports in Pakistan.

This personal history of Arshad Nadeem’s is proof of the hidden talent of Pakistan and the times to come will also see the hero in the upcoming young athletes of Pakistan. It cannot be denied that the many more rewards and honors that he still gets are rightly deserved to pay tribute to a hero whose name will be ever engraved in the history of sports in Pakistan.

Thus, as Pakistan goes on celebrating the success of Arshad Nadeem, this recognition by the government of Punjab is a welcome step to ponder and work towards the nurture and proper recognition and support required towards talent all over the country.
